Itinerary for This Tour

Day 1

Your adventure begins early when your guide collects you from your hotel. Travel through the agricultural and mining regions of the Highveld, ascending onto the Mpumalanga escarpment. Explore renowned attractions along the breathtaking Panorama Route, including God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, Graskop Gorge Lift, and stunning waterfalls.

The Panorama Route winds along the edge of the rugged northern Drakensberg mountains, offering spectacular vistas and marking a dramatic transition between the inland plateau and the Lowveld plains nearly 1,000 metres below. The region features impressive waterfalls, river-carved potholes, gorges, and canyons. By late afternoon, arrive at your comfortable guest house in Graskop, where you will receive dinner.

Day 2

After Breakfast, continue along the Panorama Route, visiting Bourke’s Luck Potholes and the magnificent Three Rondavels viewpoint, providing panoramic vistas over the majestic Blyde River Canyon—one of the world’s deepest river canyons. Descend the Abel Erasmus Mountain Pass into the Lowveld, arriving at Moholoholo Forest Camp in time for lunch.

Later, visit Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre, which is renowned for wildlife conservation and education. Encounter permanent resident animals up close, including serval, African wildcat, genet, porcupine, aardwolf, aardvark, hyena, and owls, during a sunset open-vehicle game drive. Dinner is enjoyed around a crackling fire in the boma under the African skies.

Day 3

After an early morning bush walk and breakfast, head to the Blyde River Dam for a scenic boat cruise. Witness the rare Kadishi Tufa waterfall, renowned as the world’s second-tallest Tufa waterfall, and the iconic Three Rondavels.

Next, enjoy an unforgettable elephant encounter at Elephant Whispers Sanctuary. Experience close interactions, touching and feeding these magnificent creatures while learning from their knowledgeable handlers. After this extraordinary experience, transfer to Hippo Hollow Country Estate for your overnight stay.

Day 4

Depart at dawn for your morning safari in Kruger National Park. Enjoy a packed breakfast inside this flagship park, famed for its impressive variety of species. Around midday, arrive at the luxurious Shishangeni Private Lodge, an exclusive lodge located within a private concession in Kruger.

In the late afternoon, embark on a sunset open-vehicle safari. As dusk approaches, pause for sundowners deep in the bush, then continue your game drive into the evening, using spotlights to seek out nocturnal wildlife. Dinner awaits you at Shishangeni Lodge, concluding your exciting day.

Day 5

Awaken before sunrise, enjoying coffee and homemade rusks before embarking on exhilarating morning safaris. As you explore Big Five territory, your expert guide will seek out lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, and buffaloes. You will receive Breakfast upon returning to Shishangeni Private Lodge.

Spend the afternoons leisurely — relax by the pool or take in views from your suite’s private deck. You will enjoy stunning lunches with bushveld vistas. Later, set off again after afternoon tea for sunset safaris, pausing for sundowners in the bush and continuing into the evening with spotlight safaris to discover nocturnal wildlife. Dinners are enjoyed either at the lodge restaurant or around a fire, weather
permitting.

Day 6

Same itinerary as day 5.

Day 7

After a final early morning open-vehicle game drive and breakfast, depart from Shishangeni Private Lodge and return to Johannesburg, with a light lunch included en route. Drop-off at your chosen Johannesburg location concludes your unforgettable safari experience.

A convenient midday local flight departs if you’re heading directly to Cape Town. Inform Mmilo Tours at the time of your enquiry if you are taking this option, as the Johannesburg transfer cost can be adjusted accordingly, and a private transfer can be arranged.
