Itinerary for This Tour

Day 1

Your adventure begins early when your guide collects you from your hotel. Travel through the agricultural and mining regions of the Highveld, ascending to the Mpumalanga escarpment. Explore some of South Africa’s most spectacular landmarks along the iconic Panorama Route, including God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, Graskop Gorge Lift, and beautiful waterfalls.

The Panorama Route, winding along the edge of the rugged northern Drakensberg mountains, marks a dramatic transition between the inland plateau and the Lowveld plains nearly 1,000 meters below. In the late afternoon, arrive at your charming accommodation in Graskop, where you will enjoy dinner at the guesthouse.

Day 2

After breakfast, set off for Bourke’s Luck Potholes and the stunning Three Rondavels lookout, offering sweeping views over the majestic Blyde River Canyon—one of the world’s deepest river canyons. Continue your journey to Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre, nestled at the foot of the dramatic escarpment.

Your stay at Moholoholo includes three delicious meals, a game drive on the reserve, and an early morning guided bush walk, introducing you to a fascinating world of wildlife, birds, tracks, and scents of the African wilderness. End the day enjoying dinner surrounded by nature.

Day 3

Rise at dawn for a guided bush walk with an experienced field guide, providing an up-close look at smaller wildlife and plants and sightings of larger wildlife in their natural environment.

After a hearty breakfast at Moholoholo, you’ll transfer to Kapama River Lodge in Greater Kruger, arriving in time for lunch. Later, embark on your first exhilarating open-vehicle safari led by a skilled ranger. Enjoy sundowners deep in the bush as the sun sets, continuing your safari into the evening, using spotlights to search for nocturnal animals. Return to the lodge for dinner.

Day 4

Rise early for a sunrise safari in Greater Kruger National Park. With your experienced guide, search for the Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo—and other iconic wildlife species. Return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast, and then enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

Relax at the pool, rest in your suite, or unwind in the tranquil surroundings before your afternoon safari; set off for another exciting game drive after afternoon tea. Pause for sundowners at sunset, followed by a spotlight safari, tracking nocturnal wildlife. You will enjoy a dinner at Kapama’s restaurant.

Day 5

Awake before dawn for your final open-vehicle game drive in Kruger’s magnificent wilderness. After breakfast at Kapama River Lodge, your guide will transfer you back to Johannesburg, via the scenic Abel Erasmus Pass. Drop-off at your chosen Johannesburg location concludes this unforgettable adventure.
