Itinerary for This Tour

Day 1

Your journey starts with a morning flight from Cape Town International Airport ( fare included) to Nelspruit Airport ( Code MQP and also called KMIA).On arrival at Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport, you will meet your Mmilo Tours driver and transfer to Lukimbi Safari Lodge, located within the Kruger National Park. Kruger is home to an impressive diversity of species: 336 trees, 49 fish, 34 amphibians, 114 reptiles, 507 birds, and 147 mammals. The world-renowned Kruger Park offers wildlife experiences ranked among Africa’s best.

Later this afternoon, embark on your first exhilarating safari drive in specially adapted open 4×4 vehicles. Off-road driving allows close encounters with the “Big Five” and other wildlife while respecting their natural environment. At dusk, stop deep in the bush for sundowners, after which the game drive continues using spotlights to seek nocturnal animals.

Dinner will be served either in the lodge restaurant or, weather permitting, in the outdoor boma around a crackling fire. Lukimbi provides exceptional game viewing and luxurious accommodation.

Day 2

An early wake-up call signals another thrilling day in Africa. After coffee, set off on an early morning safari to experience sunrise in the bush. Lukimbi is situated in a “Big Five” reserve, so encountering lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, and buffalo is always possible. Additional wildlife includes giraffe, zebra, numerous antelope species, hyena, wild dog, monkey, baboon, hippo, crocodile, and cheetah—the list is extensive, along with numerous bird species and smaller creatures.

The game drive lasts approximately 3 to 4 hours before returning to Lukimbi.
After breakfast, guests can opt to join a qualified guide on a bush walk, which provides a chance to observe smaller wildlife and plant life up close and occasionally encounter larger animals (please request at reception upon check-in).
In the afternoon, another exciting open-vehicle safari is scheduled around sunset, offering opportunities to spot nocturnal creatures as night approaches.

You will enjoy dinner shortly after your return, ideally al fresco beneath the starry African sky.

Day 3

Another early wake-up call marks the start of your final exciting day in Africa. After coffee, head out on a sunrise safari, offering further opportunities to encounter lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, antelope species, hyena, wild dog, monkey, baboon, hippo, crocodile, cheetah, and numerous birds and smaller wildlife.

Following your morning game drive and breakfast, your guide will collect you from Lukimbi Safari Lodge and transfer back to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport for your return flight to Cape Town.

You also have the option to return to O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg after your safari at Lukimbi instead of Cape Town. Please contact Mmilo Tours for additional details if this is to be requested.
