Cape Town Peninsula Route Private door to door Full Day Tour – 8+ Hours

Your professional tour guide will collect you from your hotel in the morning for this tour of the Cape Peninsula, which exposes you to the stunning views of sea and mountains for which the Cape of Good Hope is world-renowned. When sailing into Table Bay Harbour for the first time, a mesmerised Sir Francis Drake declared the Cape of Good Hope, as it was known then, to be “the fairest cape in all the world.” This tour is private so no need to spend the first hour picking up others and similar at the end of the day. Just you and our knowledgeable guide. All entrance fees and light lunch ( usually fresh fish and chips optional) included. If its your last day in cape Town take your luggage along and we will drop you at the airport no extra charge.

Chapman’s Peak Drive
On your way there, pass the picturesque fishing harbour of Hout Bay at its foot.  The guide can stop at Mariners Wharf  there and you can take the boat trip to Seal Island which is optional at an extra payment or no charge if swapped out with Groot Constantia later in this tour ( see below). You will drive over Chapmans Peak, one of the world’s most beautiful stretches of coastline,

Cape Point Lighthouse
The centre of the Peninsula is Cape Point itself, the mythical meeting point of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans, but this is the place where the cold Benguela converges with the warm Mozambique Current.
We make use of the funicular railway to get up to the lighthouse for spectacular views of False Bay and the surrounding oceans. We travel through the Cape Point Nature Reserve on our way to Cape Point which forms part of the Table Mountain National Park with its many species of antelope, zebra, ostrich and rich birdlife.

Boulders Beach
On your way back to Cape Town you will stop at Boulders Beach to view its amiable African Penguins, for whom visitors are an endless source of curiosity. Boulders is a protected Nature Reserve for breeding African Penguins.

Groot Constantia ( This can be swapped out with the Boat trip to Seal Island or both can be included at extra charge).

Your last stopping off point on this tour is the Cape Dutch mansion and wine estate of Groot Constantia. This was the very first place vines were grown at in the Cape and is one of the oldest vineyards of the “new world”, dating back to the 17th century. It was part of the original Constantia estate, whose wines were favoured by Napoleon Bonaparte and Frederick the Great, and even received mention in Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility.
It is set on the wooded slope of the Constantia mountains and is a beautiful, historic and peaceful place to finish the day, taste the excellent wines produced, stroll in the grounds, visit the restaurant, or just put your feet up for a moment in the shade of the giant, old, oak trees.

Included: a customary fish & chips lunch, professional guide, transport and entrance fees to all bolded venues above.

Please note we can replace this wine tour with a boat trip to Seal Island particularly if you are doing a full day wine tour on another day
