Cape Town Winelands Tour: 8 hours

The different dramatic ranges of the Cape Fold Mountains surround the city of Cape Town. In the valleys between and on the slopes and foothills of these mountains lie the beautiful and fertile regions of the Cape Winelands.

Paarl, regarded by many as the heartland of the South African wine industry, is home to brandies, fortified wines, and natural wines, along with Stellenbosch.

In recent years the fruits of its vines have brought forth many award-winning chardonnay, sauvignon blanc and cabernet sauvignon varietals.
Franschhoek, also found in the Winelands, and known as the gourmet capital of South Africa, for its concentration of Michelin-starred restaurants, has yielded some innovative wine producers too.

The time-honoured wine tradition of the Cape Winelands dates back to the 17th century, nurtured by several generations of families. South Africa is one of the oldest “New World” wine producers.
