Night drive and Morning Bush Walk in the Kruger National Park.

A perfect and unique addition to any Kruger Safari. Lodges inside the Kruger do not provide night drives or dawn safari walks as the drivers and guests have to be back at the lodges by sunset, and bush walks start at dawn, often before the park is open to resident guests. This is because of security and anti-poaching regulations. We have designed this add-on to any Kruger Safari to ensure that guests get the most out of their Kruger wildlife experience by adding a night drive as well as a morning bush walk. These are both unique and extraordinary experiences. This is all made possible by Mmilo Tours.

Important Note: There is an age limit for the Bushwalk; 12 – 65 years of age. A fitness Certificate must be provided by a doctor if the participant is over the age of 65.

Walking shoes or boots are required. We recommend wearing comfortable strong walking clothes, Neutral colours for all clothing are preferred; Khaki, Grey, Brown, etc.

2025. Jan 1st -31 December 2025  – ZAR14484.00.00 per person sharing, ZAR27093.00.00 for a solo traveller.

2026. 1st January 2026- 31 December 2026 -ZAR15263.00 per person sharing, ZAR28536.00 for a solo traveller.

These prices apply when a Kruger Park Safari in the Crocodile River area is booked with Mmilo Tours. But in the meantime we have included road transfer from/to Johannesburg( the package is intended to be added at the beginning or end of another safari in the southern Kruger National Park (the most densely animal populated area of the park).  If you share your itinerary with us we will get back with your individualised proposal to include these exciting elements in your Kruger Park experience.In our opinion and that of many wildlife enthusiasts the Kruger experience is far from complete without experiencing it after dark and close up on the ground as in a Bush Walk and Night Drive. You can of course allow us to construct a complete integrated itinerary by including one of our safaris on this website.

Itinerary for This Tour

Day 1

You will be transferred to Bucklers Africa Lodge on the banks of the Crocodile River facing into the Kruger National Park and with views of the animals closeby. This could be from a safari lodge in southern Kruger south of Skukuza or from Johannesburg.But in most cases pick up will have to be before 11.30am latest. Also depending on your pick up point we might do safari transfer through Kruger and excellent opportunity for a private game drive if the case applies.

Depending on your arrival time Lunch is available at your own cost from the restaurant. In the meantime you can view the river and the many animals and birdlife on its banks.You will have an early dinner ( included) tonight as your departure for the Night Drive is at 18:45. Please remember to bring along a jacket or windbreaker as the wind generated by the game drive vehicle can be occasionally chilly at night.

You will return to the lodge at around 11.00pm in the, so straight to bed to get up early the next morning for your bush walk.

Day 2

Arise early at dawn this morning and go for a safari bush walk with a fully trained and armed park ranger at a location inside the Kruger National Park. A walk in the bush gives an entirely different perspective to driving around it in a vehicle. It is suddenly brought home to you that there are creatures around you much bigger and more powerful than you and some might not want to meet you and others might want to eat you! But dont worry you have your experienced armed and trained ranger to protect you and there are many beautiful and interesting things to see such as insect life, plants and animal scat and dried bones that you can examine closely with your ranger who will explain all about them and how they fit into this intricate and wild eco system.

This is a special time of day as the Kruger awakens and comes to life and cool comfortable and by far the best time for walking in the bush.

You will return to the lodge for breakfast. Our driver will collect you at checkout time (11:00am) and transfer you to the lodge featured in your main safari itinerary (usually the case if it was arranged with Mmilo Tours) or if that was completed before this package Nelspruit Airport (MQP) to go to Cape Town or Johannesburg depending on your desired endpoint/itinerary.

  • 1 Nights 4 Star accommodation next to the Crocodile River in a Deluxe Room at Bucklers Africa Lodge.
  • All meals mentioned in the itinerary, (Dinner and Breakfast)

  • Night drive in the Kruger National Park, as well as transfer to start point.

  • All costs of a personal nature, e.g. laundry, telephones excluded,
  • All drinks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic
  • If your safari in Kruger is booked with another operator (not Mmilo Tours) transfer to/from Bucklers Africa Lodge from/to the lodge where you will be/were staying.

Accommodation Note: When the category of room at the hotel at which this tour is priced is no longer available for your dates of travel Mmilo Tours will offer you the next best option available at that hotel. If no suitable rooms are available at the advertised hotel we will endeavour to offer options at another hotel as similar as possible.

Important: Please read the itinerary carefully, noting any optional activities you or some members in your group may want to take part in. You do not have to take part in any of the optional activities if you do not wish to. It helps us in our planning to know if you are interested and number of participants. These additional optional activities are not costed into this scheduled tour, and if you choose them, you pay the extra amount involved either directly to Mmilo Tours in advance, or on arrival at the venue. You will be informed accordingly by Mmilo Tours, and they are extra to the basic cost of the tour
