Chobe Marina Lodge’s lush expansive gardens host a profusion of wildlife, including the legendary fish eagle, warthog, squirrel, mongoose, vervet monkeys and fruit bat. Just 10 minutes away, at Chobe, the most popular national park in Botswana, 45,000 elephant share this wildlife sanctuary with lion, leopard, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, impala, tsessebe, roan, sable, wildebeest, kudu, buffalo, waterbuck, warthog, eland, hyena, jackal and bat-eared fox.
The famed Chobe National Park is one of those last places on earth that remind us of a time when great herds of wildlife roamed freely. There is something about unfettered nature, the purity of the earth and sky and the life-giving Chobe River that make the human breast swell with joy and  the spirit soar, in these sublime surroundings. Watching wave after wave of the largest savannah elephant population in Africa artfully negotiating their way to the Chobe River to drink is one of those moving experiences you will recount for life.
