Staying at Kwa Madwala opens up different opportunities to guests visiting the Kruger area as it is a private reserve. The rules inside the Kruger are very strict as lodge guests are only allowed on game drives and bush walks within the area around the lodge. As Kwa Madwala Manyatta Rock Camp is within its own private reserve it affords guests experiences not available inside the Kruger. Kwa Madwala offers horseback safaris, Elephant interaction and Elephant Back Safaris, Microlight flights as well as bush walks and game drives. The game drives they offer take place within the private Kwa Madwala Reserve as well as the Kruger National Park.  Kwa Madwala also has a health and beauty spa.

We offer guests this two-day itinerary as an addition to any Kruger Safari provided by Mmilo Tours to add and improve their wildlife experience but one can stay longer here and even do the Kruger Park open vehicle safaris with the Kwa Madwala rangers who are experts there also.

Kwa Madwala is a four-star lodge in a stunning five-star location on a "koppie" strewn with gigantic boulders. The en-suite Chalets amongst the boulders have commanding views over the warm bushveld to the Crocodile River bordering the Kruger National Park. Go on an elephant back safari or interaction experience, safari walks, horseback safari, and short game drives in the Lodge's private reserve. We have included two activities for you to choose from the list mentioned above. You can of course add more activities if you would like.

You are in totally natural surroundings in the private reserve that surrounds Kwa Madwala with many antelope, giraffes, warthogs, zebras, monkeys, hippos and other animals and incredible birdlife right on your doorstep. These are not aggressive animals and they walk and wander freely in and around your chalet situated in among the rocks and trees. So the experience is less restricted and there is great opportunity for that “connected to nature” experience.

If you like nature Kwa Madwala is delightful and unbeatable value for one night and longer stays!

Itinerary for This Tour

Day 1

At around 11:00am you will be collected from your Kruger based hotel/lodge and transferred by our driver and transferred to Kwa Madwala Lodge, Manyatta Rock.

Upon arrival at Kwa Madwala, you will be shown to your luxury chalet set amongst the giant boulders on the "Koppie" (large hill). The activities coordinator at the lodge will discuss the events and excursions included in your package. You may want to add to the activities not included in your package and can do so at your own cost provided time allows. The en-suite chalets have commanding views to the Crocodile River, situated on this unusual small mountain, which is covered in indigenous bush forest interspersed with giant rocks that look like huge boulders thrown there by a giant.

Your meals while here are served on the covered dining deck at the top of Manyatta Rock but occasionally dinner is in the boma, an entertainment area near the swimming pool under one of the giant rocks. Here a fire is lit and tables arranged in a semicircle. The atmosphere dining outside by firelight under the stars with some tribal dancing and singing makes a precious memory.

As mentioned in the Overview above, upon check-in you will discuss the arrangement for the various activities in your package here, including this afternoon.

Accommodation Kwa Madwala Reserve, Manyatta Rock Lodge, Lunch, Dinner, Bed, and Breakfast.

Day 2

Rise for your early morning activity ( if arranged) in this vast and abundant wilderness. We do hope that you have also taken time to enjoy the other facilities of the lodge, the swimming pool and viewing deck overlooking the Crocodile River where you can often see animals coming to drink and/or hunt. After your morning activity and breakfast, you will be transferred as discussed with your Kruger Safari at either Nelspruit Airport (MQP) or Johannesburg.

End of Tour.
