1-Day Sunrise Pilanesberg National Park Safari near Johannesburg with very experienced guides (19 years).
Few major cities in the world can boast a "Big 5" malaria-free game reserve on their doorsteps, as Johannesburg can.
Explore "Big 5" wildlife in the Pilanesberg National Park at sunrise, the best time of the day for a safari. Pick-up and drop-off to your hotel or to the airport or vice versa with our expert professional tour guides make for a super convenient tour with a riveting wildlife experience.
Besides it’s magnificent "Big 5" and all the other iconic African megafauna, the Pilanesberg National Park's position inside the eroded caldera of a 1,200-million-year-old volcano makes for interesting and impressive landscapes and vistas. Mmilo Tours can take you there on safari every day of the week. We will personalize your private safari. Over the past 10 years, we have conducted innumerable private and small group safari tours for overseas business visitors, families, small groups, and single individuals.
Timing is crucial
Sunrise, which ranges from 5:00am in summer to 6:30am in winter, is the best time to possibly see the “Big Cats" and other predators as dawn and dusk are their prime hunting times. Arrival back at your hotel or the airport is 11 hours after pick up. It’s a longish day but being there at dawn makes it worth it!
Mmilo Tours Game Drive
We will maximize your experience. In all you will spend between 6-7 hours in the reserve giving you the maximum time possible to spot the wildlife that freely roam this reserve.
Light lunch is included
Lunch is enjoyed at one of the lodges inside the Pilanesberg Game Reserve, usually at Bakubung Bush Lodge depending on where the safari takes us. Bakubung Lodge’s dining terrace is unique as besides excellent food it overlooks a waterhole where you can view the animals and wild birds gathering there.
Extended Whole Day Game Drive
For wildlife enthusiasts who want to make maximum use of their Pilanesberg safari, we can include both sunset and sunrise options. This will give you a total of 12 to 14 hours in the reserve, of course, there will be stops for lunch and coffee. Part of this day will be on the open safari vehicle (OSV) for 3 hours to give the guide a rest before the drive back to Johannesburg or Pretoria.
This will be ZAR10,330.00 for 2 people and ZAR8,630.00 for a single person. For additional persons above 2, it will cost ZAR2,800.00 per person extra.
The prices quoted on this page are for private safaris (just you only). However, should separate individuals be prepared to share a safari, we can keep it private but will offer you the option of reducing the price by sharing (if booking requests on the same day occur and time frames coincide).
Fly in Cape Town Safari Packages- Johannesburg Airport to Airport Landing & Drop Off
Cape Town and the area around it does not support adequate wildlife to afford a reasonable safari experience . Very convenient flights to Lanseria airport from Cape Town are the best option. We will meet you there.
See our One night and Two Night for our Pilanesberg Stay over packages. Game reserves here in the north of South Africa simply have more diversity and quantity of animals roaming free naturally because of the availability one basic resource.....grass!
We can meet and greet you off your flight at any of the airports in and around Johannesburg and Pretoria and take you straight away on safari and even return you there the same day! But it is best to stay over if you can using one of our packages.
Pilanesberg Safaris are a Mmilo Tours specialty. Please see our reviews on TripAdvisor to confirm this.
The price above is for a maximum of 4 people in our SUV. (Groups of 4 or larger please contact us for a quotation).
Free Mineral water included at all times.
Unscrupulous operators are claiming to be "official" or representing the Pilanesberg Game Reserve. North West Parks and Pilanesberg National Parks administer and run the game reserve and do not supply game drives or safaris. But they do excellent work managing the Pilanesberg Park and its animals and conserving the resource. Their good work and name are being exploited here so please do not support these tour operators.
